No matter how skillful you are as a project leader, it’s unlikely that you’d be able to complete an entire project by yourself—there are just too many things to do—so you’ll need help from your team to bring your project to its end point. And one of your most important functions as a project lead will be to develop your team members’ skills as you move toward completion.

But before you can develop your team, you need to have a team, so one of the first tasks toward completing a project successfully is to compile the correct project team. Selecting the right people for your project can make it easier to develop the team later, so thoughtful team selection is critical for project leaders.
